LOSE CONTROL
Lose Control,” New York City’s hottest variety performance troupe, announces the debut of its second season at the Broadway Comedy Club starting Friday, March 9, 2007 from 7-8:30pm.
Presented by Viya Unlimited & Chulisi Enterprises, Lose Control, the modern day version of “In Living Color” takes a light-hearted approach at live theater by mixing pop culture and blending it with comedy, dance and music. Hispanic themes are common with a predominately Latino cast who are bilingual, and who choose to identify with both their American and Hispanic cultures. Lose Control celebrates this new generation through hysterical skits such as “Rosa La Bonchichosa,” “Latinos Anonymous” and “Bravisimo News.” Chulisi, the well-known standup comedian who has been performing for more than a decade, will also be on hand to introduce some of New York’s hottest Latino comedic actors.
The show is also packed with talented dancers, thought-provoking poetry and so much more! “Fusing traditional Hispanic icons with mainstream American pop culture is the essence of Lose Control’s appeal,” said Vicky Ayala, Producer of Lose Control. A strong sense of family and close tie to Hispanic tradition are extremely important to New Generation Latinos, making Lose Control extremely popular among the 18-35 demographic market. “Each character is based on someone I knew while growing up in Brooklyn and Harlem, regardless of their race” said Andre Rodriguez, Writer and Director of Lose Control.“
The show features performances by the Carolyn Hulse Dance Troupe, Cesar Suarez, Hector Lopez, Jaime Fernandez, Jazmine Villegas, Jerry Diaz, Jose Bautista-Ayala, Melody Vendrell and Nixzaliz Rojas.
Tickets are available for $15 and there is a 2 beverage minimum. Doors open to the public at 6:30pm. Show starts at 7pm. The Broadway Comedy Club is conveniently located at 318 West 53rd Street between 8th and 9th Avenue.
